ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 7. The business activity index in Kazakhstan slightly decreased to 48.7 from 49.0 in December 2023, Trend reports, citing the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
The dynamics of the index were affected by a decrease in the indicator in the mining industry and the services sector, where a decrease was noted. The indexes were 46.8 and 47.8, respectively (in November – 47.2 and 48.4 respectively).
The mining industry saw a particular decline in new orders.
An improvement in business activity was recorded in manufacturing and construction sectors, where the indicators were 51.8 (51.4 in November) and 50.2 (50.3 in November), respectively. In construction and manufacturing sectors, all components have improved except delivery times.
In addition, estimates of current and future business conditions remained unchanged.
The business climate index, which is an average assessment of current and future business conditions, amounted to 7.7 (7.0 in November 2023).
