Kazakhstan to manufacture foot and mouth disease vaccines with french license

BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 18. Kazakhstan will produce vaccines against foot and mouth disease under license from the French company Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health France, Trend reports.

According to the report, the General Director of the national holding of Kazakhstan QazBioPharm Ergali Abduraimov and the President of the French Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health France Christian Weisen signed a license, supply and partnership agreement in Paris.

“In accordance with the licensing agreement, the French company Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health France is providing its resources and expertise to QazBioPharm in order to develop the production of high-quality vaccines against foot and mouth disease according to the standards of the World Organization for Animal Health and its complete eradication. It should be noted that this will contribute to strengthening the fight against infectious diseases animals in our country and will allow us to further export Kazakh meat products to foreign markets,” the statement says.

The Kazakh Foreign Ministry noted that the agreement was signed within the framework of the agreements reached during the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Astana in November 2023.

Boehringer Ingelheim is one of the world's top 20 leading pharmaceutical companies and has 142 offices around the world. The company has an extensive portfolio of vaccine strains against foot and mouth disease and is a member of the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA).
