Kazakhstan's KazMunayGas sees decrease in production of petroleum products in 2023

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, February 27. The volume of production of petroleum products at KazMunayGas' (KMG, the national oil and gas company of Kazakhstan) enterprises amounted to 18.1 million tons in 2023, Trend reports.

According to the KMG's data, compared to 2022, this figure decreased by 2.7 percent.

Thus, Kazakhstani refineries produced 12.9 million tons of oil products, which is 1.3 percent less than the same period in 2022 due to a decrease in load at the Shymkent refinery.

At the same time, KMG International refineries (Petromidia, Vega) in Romania produced 5.3 percent less of oil products with total production of 5.2 million tons compared to 5.5 million tons year-on-year.

Meanwhile, the volume of oil and gas condensate production by KMG amounted to 23.5 million tons (486,000 barrels per day) in 2023. The volume of oil and gas condensate production grew by 6.5 percent from 2022.

At the same time, natural and related gas output climbed by 14.8 percent over the reporting period, reaching 9.45 billion cubic meters.
