ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 8. AydarStroyGroup LLP will launch a plant for the production of modular containers in Kazakhstan's Kentau city (Turkestan region) in 2024, said the head of the city, Zhandos Tasov, Trend reports.
"In the city of Kentau this year, AydarStroyGroup LLP will launch a plant for the production of modular containers. The total cost of the project is 2.25 billion tenge (about $5 million). The production plant is capable of producing 400 modular containers per year. When the plant is fully launched, 150 people will be employed," he said.
In addition, Tasov noted that, in total, this year it is planned to attract 47 billion tenge (about $105 million) of investments to the city.
"Among the major projects that contribute to the prosperity of the city is the production of Kaz Oil Energy LLP. The cost of the waste processing project is 27 billion tenge (about $60 million). In the future, 1,500 people will be provided with permanent jobs. In 2023, 46.7 billion tenge (about $104.6 million) of investment was attracted to the city. Of this, 83 percent comes from private investment," he said.
The head of the city pointed out that, along with large projects, small and medium-sized businesses are developing in the city. The number of operating small business facilities increased by 13 percent and reached 6,615. The industry produced products worth 31.9 billion tenge (about $71 million).
To note, in 2023, the volume of Kentau’s gross regional product reached 76.2 billion tenge (about $170.7 million). Industry accounts for 56 percent of gross output, agriculture for 17.6 percent, and trade for 14.8 percent. In the agricultural sector last year, products worth 13.3 billion tenge (about $29.8 million) were produced.
