Kazakhstan reveals volume of meat exports, imports in 2023

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 27. Kazakhstan exported 57,718 tons of meat and meat products worth $167.3 million in 2023, Trend reports.

Data from the country's Bureau of National Statistics shows that meat exports for the above period amounted to 55,192 tons ($163.2 million) and meat products to 2,526 tons ($4.1 million).

At the same time, Kazakhstan imported 173,510 tons of meat worth $245 million and 65,331 tons of meat products worth $162.5 million in 2023.

Thus, poultry meat and by-products accounted for the largest share of exports and imports. The volume of exports of these products in 2023 amounted to 31,490 tons worth $52.6 million, and imports were 152,464 tons worth $181.5 million.

In addition, exports of fresh or chilled cattle meat last year were 15,588 tons ($75.9 million), and imports were 4,036 tons ($13.7 million).

Moreover, exports of fresh, chilled, or frozen lamb or goat meat amounted to 7,893 tons worth $33.1 million, and imports were 32.7 tons worth $111,300.
