ASTANA, Kazakhstan, April 20. Kazakhstan's trade turnover with EU countries amounted to $7.15 billion from January through February 2024, Trend reports.
Data from the country's Bureau of National Statistics shows that the volume of trade turnover increased by 5 percent compared to the same period in 2023 ($6.8 billion).
At the same time, in the structure of trade turnover, exports to the EU countries for the above period amounted to $5.56 billion, which is 5.6 percent more than January–February 2023 ($5.26 billion).
In addition, imports from the EU countries from January through February 2024 increased by 3 percent and amounted to $1.6 billion. From January through February 2023, imports amounted to $1.54 billion.
Among the EU countries, Kazakhstan's largest trading partner from January through February 2024 was Italy. Thus, trade turnover between the countries amounted to $2.8 billion. Of these, exports to Italy were $2.6 billion, and imports from Italy were $199.7 million.
