ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 4. The volume of trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Asian countries amounted to $10.5 billion from January through March 2024, which is 11.6 percent less than for the same period in 2023 ($11.88 billion), Trend reports.
Data from the country's Bureau of National Statistics shows that the volume of exports to Asian countries in the first quarter of 2024 amounted to $5.6 billion. And this is 9.8 percent lower than the figure for the first quarter of 2023 ($6.2 billion).
In addition, imports from Asian countries during the above period decreased by 13.6 percent and amounted to $4.9 billion. From January through March 2023, imports amounted to $5.66 billion.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's trade turnover with Asian countries amounted to $53.6 billion from January through December 2023. The volume of trade turnover increased by 9.3 percent compared to the same period in 2022 ($49 billion).
At the same time, in terms of trade turnover, exports to Asian countries for the above period amounted to $27.8 billion, which is 10.9 percent less than from January through December 2022 ($31.2 billion).
In addition, imports from Asian countries from January through December 2023 increased by 44.7 percent and amounted to $25.7 billion. In 2022, imports amounted to $17.8 billion.
