ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 5. The business activity index in Kazakhstan slightly increased to 50.7 from 50.6 in May 2023, Trend reports.
According to the National Bank of Kazakhstan, the indicator is in the positive zone for the fourth month in a row.
An improvement in the indicator was noted in manufacturing, services, and construction. The business activity index in these sectors was in the growth zone, amounting to 51.5, 50.6, and 52, respectively (in April – 50.8, 51.4, and 48.8, respectively).
The largest increase is observed in construction, where the index moved into the positive zone. All components have improved in construction.
Despite a jump to 49 (from 47.1 in April), the mining industry's index is still in the negative zone, indicating that low employment levels are limiting the growth of business activity.
In addition, the business climate index improved slightly in May. Both current and future business conditions are assessed positively. The assessment of current business conditions has improved slightly. As a result, the business cycle clock indicator remained in the growth area.
