Kazakhstan reveals volume of cargo transportation by air

ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 25. The amount of cargo carried out by air transport in Kazakhstan hit a whopping 10,200 tons from January through May 2024, Trend reports.

The country's Bureau of National Statistics' data shows that this is 6.2 percent more than the level of the same period in 2023 (9,600 tons).

At the same time, cargo turnover by air transport for the above period amounted to 23.4 million ton-kilometers, which is 13.2 percent more than from January through May 2023 (20.7 million ton-kilometers).

Moreover, from January through May 2024, 5.4 million passengers were transported by air transport. This figure exceeds the same period in 2023 by 17.4 percent.

In addition to this, passenger turnover for the above period amounted to 10.2 billion passenger kilometers, which is 12.8 percent more than from January through May 2023.

Meanwhile, the volume of cargo transportation by all modes of transport in Kazakhstan amounted to 407.6 million tons from January through May 2024. This represents a 4.1 percent increase from the same period in 2023.

At the same time, since the beginning of the year, over 700 million passengers have been transported by all types of transport. This is a 9.4 percent increase from the corresponding period in 2023.
