ASTANA, Kazakhstan, June 26. The Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan has disclosed progress on the construction of the national highway along the route Taldykorgan - Kalbatau - Ust-Kamenogorsk, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry, asphalt has been laid along the entire 768-kilometer length of the road. Specialists have constructed 40 bridges and 6 overpasses, with several sections set to open this summer.
Additionally, bypasses around the settlements of Koilyk, Balapan, Shynkozha, and the city of Ayagoz have been completed. About 1,000 specialists and 600 pieces of special equipment are working on 16 sections of the project. Construction work on the transport interchange near Usharal is also nearing completion.
To note, the highway connects three regions of the country: Jetisu, Abai, and East Kazakhstan. The full completion of the project is scheduled for the end of 2024.
