ASTANA, Kazakhstan, July 1. Kazakhstan's GDP from January through March 2024 increased by 3.8 percent compared to the same period last year, Trend reports, citing the country's Bureau of National Statistics.
The greatest growth was shown by the industries of construction (15.9 percent), information and communications (10.1 percent), provision of other types of services (9.1 percent), transport and warehousing (8.2 percent), manufacturing industry (5.6 percent), and electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning (5.5 percent).
At the same time, the volume of GDP by production approach from January through March 2024 amounted to 26 trillion tenge (about $57.8 billion).
From January through March 2024, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, real growth in the production of goods, services, and taxes on products amounted to 5.1 percent, 3 percent, and 3.7 percent, respectively.
In addition, GDP per capita from January through March 2024 amounted to $2,880.
Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's Ministry of National Economy expects GDP growth to be 5.3 percent in 2024 and 6 percent in 2025 and 2026.
Furthermore, Kazakhstan's economic growth amounted to 5.1 percent in 2023. Last year, the volume of investments in fixed capital increased by 13.7 percent and amounted to $39.5 billion, while over the first nine months of 2023, $19.7 billion of foreign direct investment was attracted.
