Egypt interested in export of Kazakhstani grain
(gazeta.kz) - Egypt is interested in export of Kazakhstani grain, but there is a transportation problem, Hosni Mubarak, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, said at an open meeting with Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, Tuesday, November 7, reports Trend.
"I believe that it is necessary to develop commercial and economic co-operation between Kazakhstan and Egypt. But there is a transportation problem. We can import the Kazakhstani grain, but the transportation problem has to be resolved," - Mr. Mubarak said.
"We co-operate with Kazakhstan on all issues of mutual interest, but we have to develop this co-operation," - he added.
According to the Statistic Agency of RK, the commodity turnover between Kazakhstan and Egypt in January-August 2006 was $14.4 million, of which the export from Kazakhstan was $12 million, the import to Kazakhstan - $2.5 million.
