"Every day in Kyrgyzstan die about 18 children. Some 59 newborns out of 1000 die yearly before they reach 5 years old," the UNICEF Representative to Kyrgyzstan Timothy Shaffter said presenting the new cooperation project.

Today poor health of women and children in Kyrgyzstan stem from low social and economic development and little access to professional medical treatment, reported "24.kg".

"Most of the children's deaths are caused by breathing organs infection and inborn anomaly during the perinatal period. Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan manages to provide immunization for large range of children. UNICEF and other Kyrgyzstan's partners from the World Alliance of Vaccination and Immunization assist to eradicate poliomyelitis and diminishe measles and German measles sickness rates," the representative said.
