Kyrgyzstan is one of the eight countries in the world which was offered a swine flu vaccination, Sabirjan Abdikarimov, the Assistant Health Care Minister told reporters in Bishkek Thursday, news agency "24.kg" reported.

The vaccine is likely to reach Kyrgyzstan in early December. "Kyrgyz doctors, customs officers and trainmen will be the first to get vaccinated. Kyrgyzstan will receive 500 shots, which is enough for 10 percent of Kyrgyzstan's population," Abdikarimov said.

The official noted that Kyrgyz authorities take necessary measures to prevent spread of the disease. "Mortality rate of the bird flu reached 7 percent, while the swine flu has taken lives of only 2 percent of the infected," he stressed.
