Number of A/H1N1 patients has risen to 61 in Kyrgyzstan, Zuridin Nurmatov, chief of the sanitary and epidemiological control department under the Kyrgyz Health Care Ministry told the news agency 24.kg.

At least 25 of the infected have arrived from other countries (mainly from Russia), while the rest 36 cases have been identified among the local population. "The majority of cases have been revealed in Bishkek," Nurmatov said.

Number of patient with acute respiratory viral infection and flu sharply increased in the last three weeks. "So if 2,763 thousand infected were registered in the republic last week, today's sickness rate comes to 5.57 thousand patients. Therewith, growth in number of patients is connected with spread of A/H1N1 influenza," he added.
