Soldiers halted a car with a human right activist, Chairman of public fund "Kalym shamy" Aziza Abdirasulova at the block post in the city of Osh, in Kyrgyzstan. The statement was made by Ms. Abdirasulova, news agency "24.kg" reported.
As she said, she was accompanied by office staff. Moreover, they are members of the State Commission on investigation of reasons of June tragedy in south capital. The car was stopped by the soldiers of the commandant's office in Osh right at the entrance to the town.
"It happened at 22.00 p.m. of local time, just in time of curfew. Although, we had permit, mission order and special authorization issued under the relevant presidential decree. But the soldiers did not even take a look at our documents. They ordered to drive away. We did not resist them, but preferred to stay in the car. They were armed and we are aware of cases when soldiers opened fire when the car did not stop at the request. One girl was killed", said Aziza Abdirasulova.
She also noted that the soldiers do not have any means for normal check of the documents. "The soldiers do not even have flashlights to read carefully the documents. Only slot machines", she stressed.
Aziza Abdirasulova added that she and the staff of the office in Osh will work with different ethnic groups in order to gain reconciliation between them.
Meanwhile, the press service of the commandant's of Osh region told 24.kg news agency the inspection provided by the soldiers concerned all transport vehicles except for special transport. Officers provided careful examination of cars for presence of weapons or other prohibited items.
"Aziza Abdirasulova has a permit of old-pattern. Now we have changed the document, but probably she did not know about it", the press office said.
