In Kyrgyzstan, migration outflow from Osh city has increased due to the tragic events in June, 2010.
According to the Main department of frontier control of the Frontier forces of the State National Security Service, around 20,000 persons have left for the cities of Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk (Russian Federation) only through the airport of the southern capital of Osh since June 20, 2010. Out of them more than 71 percent are citizens of Uzbek nationality, around 1-1.5 percent are representatives of European nationality, news agency "24.kg" reported.
In their turn the local bodies of statistics of Osh city informed 24.kg news agency that as of July 1, 2010, the number of citizens, who left the southern capital, has amounted to 1,720 persons, including 886 persons, who left abroad, at the same time 432 persons have arrived in Osh. As a result the migration outflow has made up 1,281 persons.
According to officials, the situation with internal migration looks like this: 395 persons have arrived in Osh city, while 886 persons migrated inside the republic to other districts and cities, the outflow has made up 491 persons.
The officials of the southern capital administration acknowledge that "many residents of the city are leaving abroad, trembling for the safety of their lives and in search of job."
