Kyrgyzstan Materials 14 May 2011 13:44 (UTC +04:00)

Deputy of the Kyrgyz Parliament from Ar-Namys faction Kanybek Imanaliev suggested pardoning legislatively 3.470 prisoners to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independency, as he said at today's session of the Parliament, 24.kg reported.

According to the people's deputy, offenders convicted of grave and extremely grave crimes will not be amnestied. "For example, if any merchant was convicted under "Fraud" Article with the requirement to pay damages to the affected party, he can be amnestied only after payment of indemnity, determined by the court," said Kanybek Imanaliev.

Ar-Namys faction deputy Dustan Bekeshev reminded that Western countries did not have any amnesty at all, as it is a loophole for corruption. However, Kanybek Imanaliev said that lists of candidates for early parole had already been prepared and would soon be presented to the members of the Supervisory Board under the State service of corrections.
