Kyrgyz PM expresses condolences to Uzbek counterpart

Kyrgyz Prime Minister Almaz Atambayev sent a telegram of condolences to Uzbek Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyayev on July 21 in connection with the earthquake in the Ferghana Valley, which resulted in the human casualties and destructions, CA-NEWS reported.

Atambayev expressed condolences on the loss of human lives as the result of the earthquake and wished speedy recovery to the injured.

The earthquake occurred in the Ferghana Valley , stretching through the territory of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan , on July 20 at midnight.

The epicenter was at 235 kilometers south - east of Tashkent, in the territory of Kyrgyzstan. T he magnitude of the tremors was 7.0.

The most affected region is the Fergana region of Uzbekistan . A ccording to the Ministry of Emergency Situations , about 13 people died , 86 were injured and 35 were hospitalized.

There were no victims and material damage in Kyrgyzstan as the epicenter was in a deserted area.
