"Each of the leaders of security agencies of Kyrgyzstan will bear personal responsibility for the facts of illegal arrests and tortures," president Roza Otunbayeva declared yesterday, August 17, at the meeting with the heads of security agencies, news agency "24.kg" reported.
According to her, the authorities cannot respond to the numerous complaints of citizens on the actions of law enforcement and supervisory agencies. "Many people are outraged by the fact that the investigation of the cases on June events is slow and with violations of the criminal norms. I came to the southern capital to take under personal control the resonance cases and deal with the situation. I give all the leaders of law enforcement and supervisory agencies a month for correction of existing violations, after which we will make appropriate conclusions," added Otunbayeva.
The members of the top brass admitted that there are certain violations and promised to eliminate them.
