Kyrgyzstan and Japan discussed the ways to improve inter-parliamentary cooperation in a meeting of Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Ruslan Kazakbayev and Japan Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs Kazuyuki Hamada on Monday, Kyrgyzstan's Foreign Ministry reported.

During the meeting Japanese side thanked Kyrgyzstan for its humanitarian aid for Japan after the natural disaster, occurred there in March, 2011.

Hamada expressed his interest in cooperation with Kyrgyzstan in the areas of parliamentary reforms and the possibility of sharing its experience in this field.

Kazakbayev thanked Japan for its contribution to the democratic reforms in Kyrgyzstan and the social and economic development of the country. He said Kyrgyzstan is interested in Japanese investments into the mining and hydroelectric industries as well as agriculture, medicine, tourism, culture and sport.
