At the government's regular meeting on Thursday, Kyrgyz Prime Minister Jantoro Satybaldiev demanded that the Interior Ministry and State National Security Committee start to make a productive fight against members of organised crime groups, the government press service of the Republic said.
"We have all witnessed the media showing of a video where members of an organised crime group used blackmail extorted a large sum of money from the Kumtor Company's management," Satybaldiev said.
According to him, it was previously and repeatedly declared that disorders in the Jeti-Oguz district are being carried out by interested and destructively minded people in close cooperation with members of organised crime groups.
The Prime Minister underscored that when major investment projects are carried out in the field of mining production, the various political groups have begun to seriously affect the social environment.
According to Satybaldiev, members of organised crime groups using patriotic slogans, manipulate the minds of ordinary citizens encouraging them to meetings.
The government head stressed that the Interior Ministry did not made significant progress in the fight against organised criminal groups.
Satybaldyev instructed the completion of the initiated criminal investigation into the extortion of large sums of money from the management of the Kumtor Company.
