The EU is ready to support the Kyrgyz initiatives on regional and international cooperation, Special Envoy to Central Asia at the European External Action Service (EEAS) Janos Herman said at the meeting with Kyrgyzstan's Prime Minister Dzhomart Otorbaev, Kabar news agency reported.

Herman said that the EU is closely monitoring the progress of democratic reforms and the emergence of the first parliamentary democracy in Central Asia.
"The EU attaches great importance to development of the relations with Kyrgyzstan. Given the importance of the reforms, we intend to support the establishment of the Kyrgyz Republic as a country with democratic values and parliamentary control and are willing to support initiatives of Kyrgyz regional and international cooperation," Herman said.

Otorbaev thanked the EU for long-term cooperation of Kyrgyzstan.
"Kyrgyzstan will continue democratic reforms in the country to make it sustainable. We are interested in cooperation with the EU countries, which have vast experience in building democracy with a strong civil society," Otorbaev said.
