Today President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbay Jeenbekov met with the Head of the Department for Financial and Economic Analysis and Monitoring of the President’s Office, the Secretary of the National Council for Sustainable Development (NCSD) of Kyrgyzstan, Nursulu Akhmetova, Kabar with reference to the press service of the President’s Office reported.
The draft of the National Strategy for Sustainable Development (NSSD) of Kyrgyzstan for 2018-2040 Taza Koom-New Era project was discussed.
Akhmetova informed the President about progress in finalizing draft Strategy of the Kyrgyz Republic for long-term development taking into account a broad public discussion.
Thus, in order to maintain a close relationship with civil society, an electronic system for collecting proposals and comments to the NSSD for the period 2018-2040 (Strategy-2040) was created.
"The Secretariat of the NCSD jointly with the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic organized a process of countrywide discussion of NSSD draft. Favorable conditions have been created for all not indifferent citizens, representatives of civil society and state authorities to contribute to the development of the country's long-term development strategy. The experts of the Secretariat of the NCSD conducted discussions in the regions throughout the country, among various professional communities, and repeatedly organized meetings with representatives of businesses and international organizations. The Secretariat of the NCSD received more than 80 proposals and comments to the draft Strategy-2040 changes from state authorities, political factions, individual deputies, youth, businesses, regions, academic communities, international organizations on various issues of development of Kyrgyzstan," stressed Akhmetova.
She mentioned that currently the Secretariat of the NCSD had analyzed the proposals received to be included for the draft Strategy-2040, which was posted on President’s website for general discussion. The final document will be discussed by the members of the National Council in February 2018.
The President emphasized that a person - a citizen of Kyrgyzstan should be the basis for the Strategy-2040. A person’s rights and freedoms should be protected and prepared for today’s rapidly changing world. In the long term, Kyrgyzstan should remain as a free and independent country, be perceived as a successful, safe and secure country, comfortable for living and doing business and investment.
Jeenbekov also stressed that the achievement of long-term goals of strategic development of Kyrgyzstan is inextricably linked with the development of regions, careful attitude to the environment and preservation of resources for future generations in today's climate change circumstances.
