The volume of foreign trade turnover of Kyrgyzstan according to the preliminary results of 2017 exceeded $ 6 billion and increased by 12.5%, press secretary of the National Statistics Committee Boris Arabaev told at a press conference, Kabar reports.
He explained that at that export of goods from Kyrgyzstan increased by 13.8%, and imports - by 12%.
"The growth in exports in January 2018 is provided by increased supplies of polished glass, butter, dried fruits, ores and concentrates, as well as precious metals," Arabaev said.
The increase in import, according to his data, is ensured by an increase in imports of synthetic fabrics, tableware and cookware, confectionery, vehicles, communications equipment, medicines, petroleum products, chocolate and other products.
"The volume of mutual trade with the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) in January 2018 amounted to $ 2 billion 418 million and compared to January 2017 and December 2016 increased by 16.6%. At the same time, exports of goods increased by 27%, imports by 13.8%," the press secretary of the Statistics Committee informed.
The greatest share of the republic's mutual trade with the member states of the EEU belongs to Russia - 59.7% and Kazakhstan 36.5%.
