Kyrgyzstan always strives to adhere to and fulfill all the values ​​found in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and, following the requirements of the time, conducts work also in accordance with the principles not covered in this document, President Sooronbay Jeenbekov told, speaking at the International Conference on Human Rights on Monday, Trend reports referring to kabar.kg.

The country leader stated that lately mankind has witnessed active work of organizations in different parts of the world whose activities are contrary to human rights.

“We always oppose those who, using various political and religious slogans as cover, deprive a person of life, harm human health and maim them. We strongly condemn violence and support the joint actions of the world community against extremism and terrorism. The Kyrgyz society strives to respect the values ​​that are not written in the Declaration, but are so necessary for the modern world,” Jeenbekov said.

He stressed that the Kyrgyz people has treated not only people with great respect, but also protected nature and the animal world, that the worldview, humane traditions and customs of their ancestors are very well reflected in the works of classic writer Chyngyz Aitmatov.

“In the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, great importance is attached to the fairness of courts and transparency of judicial proceedings. At the same time, it stresses the need to prevent permissiveness of law enforcement agencies. Kyrgyzstan has recently taken decisive actions in this direction. From 2019 we are going to begin to live within the framework of new legal norms. Pre-trial investigative actions, court proceedings, execution of a court decision will be in accordance with the norms of new codes and laws,” the President informed.

He also added that the country is introducing the Single Register of Crimes and Misconduct, probation, and setting requirements for investigative and judicial bodies for conducting transparent work. The same requirements were put forward with respect to court officers.

“Kyrgyzstan is entering a new legal space. Significant contribution to the implementation of the above-mentioned reforms, improvement of the welfare of society, protection of the rights of every citizen has been made by the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament), the 80th anniversary of which we are celebrating today. Stressing the importance of the legislative framework for of human rights protection, I would like to express gratitude to the entire Parliament,” the President added.

The International Conference was held at Ala-Archa state residence with the participation of representatives of the President’s and Ombudsman’s Offices, the Government of the country and UN projects implemented in Kyrgyzstan.
