Jeenbekov: Kyrgyzstan highly appreciates the aid provided by Russia

Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov took part in the ceremony of handing over automotive equipment to the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic on Tuesday, Trend reports referring to kabar.kg.

The aid was rendered in accordance with the implementation of the Agreement between the governments of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation on the provision of technical assistance to Kyrgyzstan as part of the process of joining the Eurasian Economic Union, the press service of the Kyrgyz President’s Office of the Republic reported.

The information on the equipment was presented by Chairman of the State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic Ularbek Sharsheev.

The President noted that Kyrgyzstan highly appreciates the aid that Russia provides not only in the field of border security, but also in other important areas of cooperation.

The leader thanked the Russian side, Russian President Vladimir Putin for strengthening the bilateral relations and ensuring regional security. “We very much value strategic partnership and alliance with Russia, and highly appreciate support. We will continue to contribute to the strengthening of cooperation within the framework of the EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union) for the future of Kyrgyzstan and Russia,” Jeenbekov told.

The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Kyrgyzstan Andrey Krutko and Advisor to the Federal State Institution Directorate for the Construction and Operation of the Rosgranitsa Objects of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Mikhail Semenov.

As part of an intergovernmental agreement, Russia allocates about $ 48.58 million for technical equipment and engineering equipment for the Kyrgyz section of the EAEU border, including outside checkpoints.

The Russian side completed deliveries of automotive and special vehicles in the number of 125 units, including high-mobility vehicles for transporting people and goods, towing vehicles, backhoe loaders, truck cranes, ambulances, special purpose vehicles, and drilling installations. The value of the state contract is $ 3 million.

In addition, 11 complexes of buildings and structures for border divisions are being commissioned, most of which were commissioned in 2018 and January 2019.
