Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia interested in further development of relations in halal industry

Meeting between Deputy Minister of Economy of Kyrgyzstan Avtandil Alybayev and Ambassador of Malaysia to Kyrgyzstan (with residence in Tashkent) Hendy Assan took place at the Kyrgyz Economy Ministry, Trend reports citing Kabar.

According to the ministry’s press service, the sides discussed issues of bilateral cooperation, noted the existing potential, as well as further development and strengthening of bilateral trade and investment relations, and stressed the interest of the parties in further development and expansion of economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Malaysia.

The Kyrgyz side proposed to consider the possibility of participation of investors and representatives of the business community of Malaysia in various exhibitions and international events, held in the territory of Kyrgyzstan in order to raise awareness with the potential of the country.

Besides, the sides stressed the interest in further development of relations in the sphere of halal industry.

Taking into account the huge potential and international experience of Malaysia in the development of the halal industry, the meeting addressed the issue of concluding an agreement on cooperation between the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy and the competent authority of Malaysia in the field of halal industry.

The Malaysian standard MS 1500:2009 is adopted in Kyrgyzstan as a national (KMS 1224:2011). In this regard, the Malaysian side noted the importance of this initiative and proposed to further develop relations in the sphere of halal industry.

The Malaysian ambassador noted the interest of the business community in Kyrgyzstan, as well as the fact that during the meetings with representatives of Kyrgyzstan’s state bodies, agreements were reached on holding the Kyrgyz-Malaysian business forum in Bishkek.
