BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 26. The number of credit card transactions in Kyrgyzstan significantly increased in the first quarter of 2022, Trend reports via the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan.

The number of credit card transactions in Kyrgyzstan from January through March 2022 amounted to 26.1 million transactions, which is an increase of 49.9 percent compared to the same period of 2021.

The total value of payment cards transactions in Kyrgyzstan in the first quarter of 2022 amounted to 98.5 billion soms ($1.2 billion), which is an increase of 30.4 percent, compared to the reporting period of 2021.

According to the statistical data, the number of cash withdrawal transactions amounted to 14.8 million transactions for a total of 84.9 billion soms ($1 billion) from January through March 2022.

Meanwhile, the number of transactions carried out through POS terminals in trade and service enterprises amounted to 11.3 million transactions for a total amount of 13.6 billion soms ($171 million) in the reporting period of 2022.
