Kyrgyzstan plans to build railway in Bishkek

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5. Kyrgyzstan plans to build a railway in the capital, Mayor of Bishkek Emilbek Abdykadyrov said on July 5, 2022, Trend reports referring to the press service of Bishkek City Hall.

According to him, the construction of the railway in Bishkek is going to be implemented in 2 phases:

- Phase I involves building a high-speed suburban railway line in place of the current train line that runs through the city center.

- Phase II - on the place of the former railroad tracks, a motor road with 6 lanes and 7 overpasses is intended to be built.

In addition, Bishkek's municipal authorities intend to implement the Monorail Transport System project. According to the preliminary scheme, a high-speed transportation system will traverse the Ala-Archa and Alamedin rivers to connect the southern and northern part of Bishkek.
