BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 4. Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are going to discuss cooperation in the construction of the Kambarata-1 HPP, said Kyrgyzstan's Energy Minister Doskul Bekmurzaev, Trend reports via Kyrgyz Media.

"A meeting of the energy ministers of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan is scheduled for August 2022, a working group has been established and talks are currently underway," Bekmurzaev said.

He noted that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have a great desire to jointly implement this project.

“Kambarata-1 will become one of the largest HPPs in Central Asia, which will ensure the energy security and independence of Kyrgyzstan. We plan to put into operation the first hydropower unit in four years," he said.

Bekmurzaev specifically highlighted that the construction of Kambarata-1 HPP will be finished regardless of whether the neighboring countries will help or not.
