BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 31. Kyrgyzstan's exports of goods to Iran significantly increased in the first half of this year, Trend reports citing the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the committee, the value of exports of goods from Kyrgyzstan to Iran from January through June 2022 increased by 27.5 times compared to the same period of last year ($195,700) - up to $5.3 million.

During the reporting period, Kyrgyzstan mainly exported to Iran cotton fiber in the amount of $2.8 million and legumes - $2.2 million.

Meanwhile, Iranian exports in the first half of this year amounted to $11 million, which is 20.8 percent less than in the corresponding period of 2021 ($13.9 million).

Overall, the trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Iran from January through June 2022 reached $16.4 million, which is an increase of 16.3 percent compared to the same period last year ($14.1 million).
