BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 8. Foreign direct investment flows into Kyrgyzstan from January through June 2022 significantly increased, Trend reports citing the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the committee, foreign direct investment (FDI) in Kyrgyzstan almost doubled in the first half of 2022 compared to the same period of last year ($321.2 million) - up to $628 million.
The bulk of foreign direct investment in the reporting period was directed to:
- manufacturing enterprises ($382.5 million);
- mining ($73.7 million);
- the sphere of financial intermediation and insurance ($64.9 million);
- wholesale and retail trade ($51.6 million).
Meanwhile, the largest share in the total volume of foreign direct investment received in the first half of this year falls on Canada - $157.3 million, China - $129.1 million and Russia - $100.2 million.
