BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15. Kyrgyzstan has one of the cheapest electricity tariffs in Central Asia, Trend reports with reference to the tazabek.kg.

According to the US Agency for International Development (USAID), the electricity tariff per 1 kWh for the population (with consumption up to 700 kWh) in Kyrgyzstan is 0,9 cents, in Tajikistan - 2,01 cents and in Turkmenistan 0,71 cents.

The highest tariffs per 1 kWh for electricity are recorded in Kazakhstan - 4,4 cents, the lowest in Uzbekistan - 0,02 cents.

USAID is supporting the development of clean energy across Central Asia through its flagship energy activity, Power Central Asia—a $40 million regional energy program that is assisting the five Central Asian countries to cooperate and meet their national energy priorities.
