BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 29. Currently, a total of 8 projects for the construction and reconstruction of hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) are being implemented in Kyrgyzstan, Trend reports with reference to the National Energy Holding of Kyrgyzstan.

The Energy Holding noted that thanks to the correct policy of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, conditions have been created in the country for the construction of small hydropower plants. For instance, active work is underway to build a small HPP on the Kok-Art river in the Jalal-Abad region.

The construction of the Bala-Saruu HPP with a capacity of 25 MW is underway in Kyrgyzstan's Talas, and the Kulanak HPP with a capacity of 100 MW is under construction in Naryn.

"A tender has been announced for the construction of Kambarata HPP-2, with a capacity of 150 MW. Preparations are underway for the construction of Kambarata HPP-1, the construction of roads, bridges, power lines, construction sites. Its capacity will be 1,800 MW," the message says.

In addition, the At-Bashi and Uch-Korgon HPPs, as well as one unit of the Toktogul HPP, are being reconstructed in Kyrgyzstan.
