BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 18. Turnover of retail and wholesale trade in Kyrgyzstan increased in 2022, Trend reports referring to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.

Statistics show that Kyrgyzstan's retail trade turnover increased by 22.1 percent from 2021 (358.6 billion soms, or $4.1 billion) to 438.2 billion soms ($5.1 billion) in 2022.

During the reporting period, the value of wholesale trade in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 367.9 billion soms ($4.2 billion), which is 22.5 percent more compared to 2021 (300.1 billion soms or $3.5 billion).

The retail sale of motor fuel in Kyrgyzstan reached 111.9 billion soms ($1.3 billion) over the course of 2022.

Remarkably, the largest volume of retail and wholesale trade recorded last year was in the capital Bishkek - 499.7 billion soms ($5.8 billion).

According to the committee, at the end of the first half of 2022, there were about 12,000 small and medium-sized enterprises that provided jobs for 519,600 people. In addition, there were a total of 438,000 individual entrepreneurs in Kyrgyzstan.
