Kyrgyzstan removes ban on import of animal, poultry products from several countries

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 20. Kyrgyzstan has removed temporary restrictions on imports of farm animals and animal products from Uzbekistan, as well as birds and poultry products from the US, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.

The ban on imports of farm animals and animal products from Uzbekistan was imposed by Kyrgyzstan on September 14, 2022. The ban on the imports of poultry products from the US was in place since September 2.

At the same time, there are a number of imports restrictions that still remain in place. Among them are:

- ban on imports of farm animals susceptible to foot-and-mouth disease and their products from Kazakhstan’s Karaganda region and Russian Orenburg region to Kyrgyzstan;

- ban on imports of animals susceptible to lumpy skin disease from Russian Buryatia and Bashkortostan republics to Kyrgyzstan;

- ban on imports of animals susceptible to nodular dermatitis from three Indian districts to Kyrgyzstan;

- ban on imports of cattle, sheep and goats from Mongolia to Kyrgyzstan;

And the ban on imports of cattle and all farm animals susceptible to nodular dermatitis from Afghanistan.
