BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 1. Kyrgyzstan imported electrical transformers worth $2.9 million in January 2023, which is an increase of almost two times year-on-year ($1.5 million in January 2022), Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to the statistics, while the value of the imports in the reporting period shows a significant increase, the volume of the imports rose only by 2 percent – from 190,682 transformers in January 2022 to 194,787 this year.
The main supplier of electrical transformers to Kyrgyzstan in the first month of 2023 was China -183,421 transformers for $2.6 million.

Overall, Kyrgyzstan's trade turnover totaled $834.7 million in January 2023, which is an increase of nearly 20 percent year-on-year ($692.5 million in January 2022).
The exports from Kyrgyzstan made up $125.5 million, which is an increase of 11 percent over $111 million in January 2022. The imports to Kyrgyzstan reached $709 million, increasing by 22 percent compared to $581 million in January 2022.
