BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 26. Kyrgyzstan exported 33 tons of honey from January through February 2023, which is 37 percent less than in the same period of 2022 (53 tons), Trend reports via the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
During the period under review, the largest growth in honey exports (over 3.5 times) was registered for Japan - 6.1 tons from 1.7 tons in 2M2022, followed by the UAE – an increase over 1.8 times up to 15.8 tons from 8.4 tons in 2M2022.
In the specified period, Kyrgyzstan mostly exported honey to the following countries:
The UAE – 15.8 tons of honey for $44,800;
China – 8 tons of honey for $13,700;
Japan – 6.1 tons of honey for $53,900;
Qatar – 1.4 tons of honey for $3,500;
South Korea – 800 kg of honey for $3,200;
Kazakhstan – 600 kg of honey for $3,000.
Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan exported 257 tons of honey in 2022, which is 35 percent less compared to 395 tons in 2021.
The value of honey exports from Kyrgyzstan amounted to $1.1 million last year, decreasing from $1.6 million in 2021.
Last year, Kyrgyzstan mostly exported honey to the UAE (38 tons for $160,400), Saudi Arabia (38 tons for $139,900), China (37 tons for $103,800), and South Korea (36 tons for $154,600).
