BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 21. Kyrgyzstan’s imports from Germany increased more than fourfold year-on-year in the period from January through April 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan, the country imported from Germany goods for $109.828 million from January through April 2023, which is 4.6 times more than in the same period of 2022 ($23.421 million). These imports accounted for 3.4 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s total imports.
On the other hand, Kyrgyzstan’s export deliveries to Germany saw a decrease of 44 percent year-on-year, equaling $2.588 million or 0.4 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s exports. In comparison, Kyrgyz exports to Germany amounted to $4.572 million in the corresponding period of 2022.
Overall, trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Germany totaled $112.417 million or 2.9 percent of Kyrgyzstan’s trade turnover from January through April 2023, making Germany the main trade partner of Kyrgyzstan among European countries. The figure increased fourfold compared to the $27.993 million recorded in the same months of 2022.
Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and the European countries amounted to $433.1 million from January through April 2023, increasing 2.9 times compared to $145.4 million in the corresponding period of 2022.
Export from Kyrgyzstan to European countries equaled $96.6 million, or 15.7 percent of Kyrgyzstan's total export. This figure increased 3.6 times compared to the $26.4 million in January through April 2022.
Imports from European countries to Kyrgyzstan amounted to $336.5 million during the specified period, which is 2.8 times more than the $119 million recorded in the corresponding months of 2022.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan's trade volume reached $3.9 billion from January through April 2023, marking a 25.5 percent growth compared to the previous year. Exports experienced an 18.9 percent rise, whereas imports saw an increase of 26.8 percent.
