BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 12. Kumtor Gold Company in Kyrgyzstan has exceeded its plan and extracted more than 5.5 tons of precious metals, including gold, silver, and platinum, from the Kumtor gold mine, from January through June 2023, Trend reports.
Additionally, 2,504 kilograms of gold were produced by the company at the Kumtor mine from January through March 2023, surpassing the 2,068 kilograms produced in the same period of 2022.
The net profit of the Kumtor Gold Company in Kyrgyzstan amounted to $36.9 million from January through March 2023
In the previous year, Kumtor Gold Company extracted 17.5 tons of gold and contributed 32.1 billion soms ($364.6 million) in taxes, social fund contributions, and other mandatory payments to the budget of Kyrgyzstan.
Kumtor, operated by Kumtor Gold Company, is the largest gold mine in Central Asia. Since its industrial production began in May 1997 until December 31, 2022, the Kumtor deposit has yielded over 14.3 million ounces of gold.
