BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 14. Social assistance to the population of Kyrgyzstan from the national budget amounted to 9.6 billion soms ($109 million) from January through June 2023, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan, the majority of funds were allocated to social allowances: 4.2 billion soms ($47.7 million).
Here's how the money was distributed:
Social allowances: 4.2 billion soms ($47.7 million);
Allowance for low-income families with children under 16: 2.7 billion soms ($30.6 million);
Social contracts for low-income families: 987 million soms ($11.2 million);
For personal assistants for children with disabilities requiring constant care and supervision: 568.2 million soms (6.4 million);
Compensation to replace privileges for specific groups (WWII veterans, Chernobyl disaster survivors, disabled individuals, etc.): 515.6 million soms ($5.8 million);
One-time childbirth allowance: 292.1 million soms ($3.3 million);
Pregnancy and childbirth allowances: 287.4 million soms ($3.2 million);
Funeral allowances: 37.2 million soms ($422,631);
Expenses for organizing public works: 29.4 million soms ($334,014);
Expenses for training unemployed individuals: 17.2 million soms ($195,410).
According to the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of Kyrgyzstan, a total of 547,600 citizens of the country received state allowances, amounting to 13.3 billion soms ($151.1 million) in 2022.
