BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 17. The trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan amounted to $1.402 million from January through June 2023, which is a decrease of 31 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2022 ($2.023 million), Trend reports.
As the data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan showed, exports from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan reached $1.079 million, decreasing 31 percent in comparison to the first six months of 2022, during which they stood at $1.579 million.
The country's imports from Tajikistan amounted to $323,000, which is a drop of 27.2 percent when compared to the same period in 2022 ($443,500).
The primary share of Kyrgyzstan's exports to Tajikistan is composed of various types of vehicles, while Kyrgyzstan's primary imports from Tajikistan are aluminum products.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.7 billion from January through June 2023, an increase of 31 percent compared to the first half of 2022 ($5.1 billion).
Kyrgyzstan's exports totaled $1.306 billion, which is 34.6 percent more than the $970.5 million recorded from January through June 2022.
The country's imports reached $5.398 billion, rising 30.3 percent compared to the same months of the previous year ($4.142 billion).
