Kyrgyzstan increases imports of UAVs from China

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 18. Kyrgyzstan imported 52 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) from January through June 2023, which is 3.7 times more than the 14 UAVs imported in the first half of 2022, Trend reports.

According to the State Statistical Committee of the country, the total value of the imported UAVs amounts to $132,900, which is 43 percent more than $92,900 in the corresponding months of the previous year.

Among these, 45 UAVs were imported from China, for $37,000, while in the same period of 2022 Kyrgyzstan imported only 11 UAVs from this country.

Additionally, four UAVs were procured from Germany for $79,300, two from Switzerland for $9,400, and one from the UAE at a cost of $7,300.

Meanwhile, one UAV was exported from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan for $800 during the same period.

Overall, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.7 billion from January through June 2023, increasing 31 percent compared to the first half of 2022 ($5.1 billion).

Kyrgyzstan's exports totaled $1.306 billion, which is 34.6 percent more than $970.5 million recorded from January through June 2022.

The country's imports reached $5.398 billion, rising 30.3 percent compared to the same months of the previous year ($4.142 billion).
