Kyrgyzstan's imports of truck from US soar in 1H2023

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 21. Kyrgyzstan imported a significantly higher number of trucks from the US from January through June 2023 compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.

Data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan showed that during the first half of 2023, Kyrgyzstan imported 155 trucks from the US for $4.689 million, while in the same period of 2022, only 16 trucks were imported for $216,700.

During the period under review, Kyrgyzstan also increased imports of cars from China (an increase of 2.9 times), Uzbekistan (an increase of 2.9 times), Germany (an increase of 2.2 times), Lithuania (an increase of 1.9 times), and South Korea (an increase of 81 percent).

Overall, Kyrgyzstan imported 5,701 trucks from January through June 2023, which is twice the number imported in the same period of 2022 (2,770 trucks). The value of these imports amounted to $62.646 million, an increase of 2.4 times compared to the first half of 2022 ($25.805 million).

Trade turnover between Kyrgyzstan and the US amounted to $202.079 million from January through June 2023, which is 2.4 times more than in the same period of 2022.

Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $6.7 billion from January through June 2023, which is an increase of 31 percent compared to the first half of 2022 ($5.1 billion).
