Kyrgyzstan's dairy, egg and meat production soars

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 18. Milk production in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 1.207 million tons from January through August 2023, Trend reports.

Data from the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan shows that this represents an increase of 26,400 tons, or 2.2 percent, compared to the same period last year.

Additionally, the country produced 266,800 tons of meat, which is 3,484 tons, or 1.3 percent, more than in the first 8 months of the previous year.

During the period under review, the country produced 483.173 million eggs, which is 12.9 percent or 55.250 million more than in the same period in 2022.

Under the government’s agricultural financing project, a total of 5,233 credits have been issued for the livestock sector as of September 7, 2023, with a combined amount of 2,411,billion soms ($27.183 million).

The dairy industry of Kyrgyzstan is one of the leading industries in the processing sector of the Kyrgyz economy. Milk production in Kyrgyzstan amounted to 1.734 million tons in 2022, which is 7.7 percent more than in 2021.
