BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 29. Kyrgyzstan's black coal exports to Romania reached 74,161 tons from January through July 2023, which is twice the amount exported during the same period in 2022 (36,509 tons), Trend reports.
Data from the State Statistical Committee reveals that the value of these exports amounted to $5.036 million, up by 2.3 times compared to January through July 2022 ($2.120 million).
Romania was the second-largest buyer of black coal from Kyrgyzstan, with only Uzbekistan ahead. Kyrgyzstan exported 507,958 tons of black coal to Uzbekistan, with a total value of $16.426 million.
Overall, Kyrgyzstan exported 668,979 tons of black coal from January through July 2023, which is a 68 percent increase compared to the same period in 2022 (396,249 tons). The total value of these coal exports reached $27.195 million, growing 64.6 percent compared to the corresponding period in 2022 ($16.520 million).
Black coal production within Kyrgyzstan reached 376,500 tons from January through August 2023, up by 10.3 percent in comparison to the same period in 2022 (341,500 tons).
