Kyrgyzstan's beer imports go flat, supplies from main provider shrink

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 10. Kyrgyzstan imported 4.935 million liters of beer during January through July 2023, which is a 40-percent drop compared to the same period in 2022, Trend reports.

Data from the State Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan shows that the total value of these imports amounted to $5.209 million, declining by 29 percent year-on-year.

During this period, Kyrgyzstan primarily sourced its beer imports from Russia, accounting for 3.658 million liters or 74 percent of the total beer imports. This figure dropped by 50 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

In terms of value, Russian beer imports amounted to $3.614 million, decreasing 44 percent year-on-year.

During the reporting period, Kyrgyzstan imported beer from a total of 14 countries.

Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $8.153 billion from January through July 2023, which is an increase of 32.3 percent compared to the same months in 2022.

Exports amounted to $1.602 billion, increasing by 45.6 percent compared to the corresponding months of 2022. Imports rose by 29.4 percent year-on-year, totaling $6.551 billion.
