BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 11. The value of Kyrgyzstan's mining output rose to 43.662 billion soms ($488 million) from January through October 2023, which is a 15-percent increase, compared to 37.866 billion soms ($423 million) during the same period in 2022, Trend reports.
In October, the value of mining output soared by 40 percent, reaching 6.102 billion soms ($68 million), compared to 4.347 billion soms ($48 million) in October 2022.
At the same time, the volume of mining production increased by 4.4 percent year-on-year from January through October 2023.
Specifically, there were rises in the production volumes of stone and brown coal (lignite) by 13.6 percent, crude oil and natural gas by 5.1 percent, as well as metallic ores by 2.4 percent, and other valuable minerals by 21.9 percent.
Overall, the value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan reached 377.5 billion soms ($4.2 billion) from January through October 2023, which is 1.2 percent more than in the same period of 2022.
