Kyrgyzstan's Chuy region records industrial production surge

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, December 11. The value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan was highest in the Chuy region from January through October 2023, Trend reports.

Data from the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan shows that during the ten months, the value of industrial production in the Chuy region totaled 173.358 billion soms ($1.9 billion), representing a 30.3 percent increase over the same period in 2022.

Industrial production in the Chuy region reached 20.571 billion soms ($230 million) in October 2023, up 93 percent from 16.118 billion soms ($180 million) in October 2022.

The Chuy area, located in northern Kyrgyzstan, is the country's most industrially and agriculturally developed region.

In terms of industrial production volume, the Issyk-Kul region followed the Chuy region with 61.409 billion soms ($687 million) from January through October 2023, and the city of Bishkek recorded 53.599 billion soms ($600 million).

Overall, the value of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan reached 377.5 billion soms ($4.2 billion) from January through October 2023, which is 1.2 percent more than in the same period of 2022.
